ANTIPOPES OF THE VATICAN II RELIGION - 2 July, The Visitation of Our Blessed Lady

__________________________

Antipopes Of The Vatican II Church

In our last article on the Antipopes of the Catholic Church, we listed all known antipopes before Vatican II.

Have we had any antipopes since then and if so how many?

We defined earlier that a heretic, being outside the Church, could not be the head of that Body, namely the Catholic Church, of which he would not be a member.

We will now demonstrate, that, indeed, there have been antipopes in the Catholic Church following Vatican II, who have fraudulently claimed to be the Vicar of Christ, and in doing so assaulted the Catholic world with a brain-numbing illusion, assisted in it's doing so by the Judeo-Masonic controlled news media.

"Pope" John XXIII- 1958 -1963;

Suspected of Modernism

[ Antipope John XXIII]

The man who decided to call the Vatican II council was born in 1881, and for years the Holy Office maintained a dossier on Angelo Roncalli (John XXIII) which read "suspected of Modernism [ which, incidentally had been declared as heresy by Pope Pius X, years before, in his encyclical, Pascendi Dominici Gregis (On Modernism)].

[Angelo Roncalli in Turkey, c. 1935, during his nunciature, incurred ipso facto ( automatic excommunication) when he joined the Freemasons]

As early as 1926, Angello Roncalli , denied that the one true Church had been established, in writing to one Orthodox Schismatic:

"Catholics and Orthodox are not enemies, but brothers. We have the sames faith...Later on, though travelling along different paths, we shall achieve union among the churches to form together the true and unique Church of Jesus Christ." [When A Pope Asks For Forgiveness, Luigi Accattoli,1998, p. 18-19] -HERESY.[Here he denies that the Catholic Church has been established by Jesus Christ!]

Claimed to be a Freemason

The head of the Italian Freemasons, the Grand Master of the Grand Orient of Italy stated: "As for that,it seems that John XXIII was initiated (into a Masonic Lodge) in Paris and participated in the work of the Istanbul Workshops." [His Freemasonic code name was ROAN]

Freemasonry was condemned by Pope Leo XIII in his encyclical Humanus Genus, April, 20, 1884.[ Future article on this encyclical to be posted...]

John XXIII denied the teaching that 'Outside the Catholic Church there is no Salvation' - While in Turkey, stated: " You Irish are impossible. The moment you come into the world, ...you begin by damning everybody who doesn't belong to the Church, especially Protestants!"

He stated the Jews are still the chosen people, believed in freedom of religion, taught that protestants were part of the Church.

["Coronation" of Antipope John XXIII, 1958]

After the death of John XXIII, his body was filled with embalming fluid to stop it decaying, and when his body was exhumed and placed in a new coffin he was found FACE DOWN [no surprise , really].

[Apostate Second Vatican Council 1962-1965]

" Pope" Paul VI ( 1963- 1978),

A man who promulgated the Second Vatican Council and the New Mass, he ratified all 16 documents of Vatican II, believed in Modernism, denied, like his predecessor, that Outside the Catholic Church there is no Salvation, believed in religious liberty, favored birth control, promoted the diabolical United Nations, promoted the New World Order, the worship of man in place of God, abolished the ban on forbidden books (index of forbidden books) and also the ban on all un-approved apparitions....and more

[Antipope Paul VI - notice 'split fingers' -masonic sign.] The handwritten notes on page with photo of Paul VI, read as follows: "Let no man deceive you by any means for unless there come a revolt ( Vat II) first and The Man of Sin be revealed, The Son of perdition..2 Thess....St. Hillary 4th cent., Bishop (Doctor of the Church) tells us that from this we can know that Antichrist like Judas will be an apostate Bishop...The battle of the Antichrist will centre on the priesthood and the Sacrifice( of the Mass) said the prophet Daniel (cf Peter Julian Eymard)...Paul VI subtly displays the 'split' fingers of Freemasons normally used in a handshake. Automatic 'ipso facto' Major Excommunication cf Papal Bull, Pope Clement XII, In Eminenti, 1731. all his actions , decrees, encyclicals, etc NULL AND VOID." -M. Harris

["Papal" visit to America 1970's; his mission, his quest for peace - which means in reality "to establish his "one world ecumenical church" and the "peace of Antichrist" ]- [Time/ Life magazine]

Antipope Paul VI was "elected" on June 21, 1963 and "coronated" on June 30, 1963. His name for the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY appeared in the 'Annuario Pontificio' as follows (emphasis added) :

_________

PAOLO VI, 21 VI, 30 VI, 1963
Paul 6 was 66 when he usurped the Chair of Peter.
In his book on the Apocalypse, Fr. Kramer wrote the following about St.Paul's prophecy concerning the Antichrist sitting in the Temple of God.

"St. Paul says that the Antichrist 'sitteth in the temple of God"... This is not the ancient Temple of Jerusalem, nor a temple like it built by Antichrist, as some have thought, for then it would be his own temple ... this temple is shown to be the Catholic Church, possibly one of the churches in Jerusalem or St. Peter's in Rome, which is the largest church in the world and is in the full sense "The Temple of God."

St. Bernard believed that the Antichrist would be an antipope, and Bl. Joachim( d. 1202) stated that "towards the end of the world, Antichrist will overthrow the pope and usurp his see."

Whether or not one believes the Antichrist will be an antipope, Our Lady did prophesy that "Rome would lose the Faith and become the seat of the Anti-Christ...the Church will be in eclipse."...La Salette, Sept.19, 1846

ANTIPOPE PAUL VI'S SIGNATURE CONTAINS THREE 6'S

In the picture of Antipope Paul VI'S signature, you will see if you turn it upside down, three clear 6's. This is the way Paul VI'S signature always appeared.

Paul VI appointed the Freemason Annibali Bugnini to
head a committee, which included six protestants to compose a New Mass. Bugnini's Masonic code name was BUAN .

Shortly after Antipope Paul VI died his body turned black, and the stench was so bad that his coffin had to be opened and formaldehyde added. He was buried in a plain wooden coffin without nails, according to his own personal instructions, and without the traditional crucifix attached. This is according to Jewish custom.

Paul VI's name was Montini, a Jewish family name going back several centuries according to the Golden Book of Noble Italian Heritage, so it was no wonder he requested a Jewish burial in keeping with the satanic Jewish infiltrator that he was.

Antipope Paul VI was often seen wearing the ephod, a breastplate worn by the Jewish high priest; he was also known to be a member of the Jewish Freemasons, the B'nai Brith:

Carlos Vazquez Rangel, Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of the Masons of Mexico, in a 1993 interview with the political weekly 'Plocesso' stated:

"On the same day, in Paris the profane Angelo Roncalli ( John XXIII) and the profane Giovanni Montini (Paul VI), were initiated into the august mysteries of the Brotherhood. Thus it was that much that has been achieved at the Council ( Vatican II ) was based on Masonic Principles."
_____________

"Pope" John Paul I (1978 for 33 days),

Fully approved religious indifferentism and the false
ecumenism of the Second Vatican council, believed in birth control, favored a new international organisation and blasphemied against Christ and His Church..

Albino Luciano (John Paul I) was born the son of a committed Socialist.

[ Antipope John Paul I , 1978 for 33 days]

He was "consecrated" bishop by Antipope John XXIII , on Dec 27, 1958 and named a "cardinal" by Antipope Paul VI, who both , of course, had no power to do anything in the Catholic Church, because as heretics they were outside the Church.

John Paul I renounced the papal tiara, which was sold by Antipope Paul VI to a Jewish merchant, and sometime later the gems were seen adorning a Hollywood actress...and replaced the coronation ceremony with a simple celebration ( a couple of glasses of bubbly to celebrate their [freemasonic] success)

The Vatican claimed that John Paul I died of a massive heart attack around 11pm on Sept,28, 1978. Events surrounding the sudden unexpected death of John Paul I suggest that he was in fact poisoned ...

[ The papal tiara which was sold to a Jewish merchant by Antipope Paul VI , for several thousands of dollars, the precious gems of which were later seen bedecking a Hollywood film star]

"Pope " John Paul II.....more coming.... including after the death of the last true pope( Pius XII in 1958), how the Freemasonic forces managed to hijack the conclave, and so suppress the papacy...________________________________

Antipope John Paul II (Karol Wojtyla), whose mother was Jewish, ( maiden name Katz) claimed to be pope from 1978 until 2005, was perhaps the most heretical man to have walked the face of the earth. His heresies are manifest and it is difficult to know where to start.

It is sufficient, however to simply point out one of his heresies to prove that he could not have been a true pope of the Catholic Church.

Antipope John Paul II was an active participant in the four sessions of the heretical Vatican II and in working groups that refined draft documents.
[ Antipope John Paul II, 1978 - 2005...carries the "Broken Cross"]
We have picked out his constant teaching on universal salvation to prove that he could not have been a true pope.
The idea that all men are saved is contrary to the clear words of the Gospel and numerous Catholic dogmas, especially the dogma that there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church, and that all who die in mortal sin or original sin cannot be saved.
Pope Gregory X, 2nd Council of Lyons, 1274, ex cathedra:
"The souls of those who die in mortal sin or with original sin only ...immediately descend into Hell, yet to be punished with different punishments."
However, Antipope John Paul II, held and taught that in the Incarnation, the Son of God united Himself with every man in an unbreakable union, which made it impossible, according to him , for anyone to go to Hell . Antipope John Paul II taught that this union between Christ and each man lasts forever.

John Paul II, Redemptor Missio,(#4) , Dec. 7,1990:
"The Redemption event brings salvation to all, 'for each one is included in the mystery of the Redemption and with each one Christ has united Himself forever through this mystery."
Note the word "forever". This means all men are saved. Hell is eternal separation from God. But according to Antipope John Paul II, no one is ever separated from God. Everyone is united with God forever. This is universal salvation.
Antipope John Paul II believed in evolution, promoted Freemasonry, promoted the diabolical United Nations, changed the words of the Bible, promoted false religions and prayed with them, criticised the traditional Mass, altered the Rosary, approved practice of Altar Girls, apologized for past "sins" of the Church, denied that Heaven, Hell and Purgatory are actual places, carried the "Broken Cross", and taught that man is the Christ ( one of the marks of Antichrist).

[ Antipope John Paul II kisses the Koran-the devil's handbook.( Apostasy) The Koran blasphemes the Most Holy Trinity, the Holy Mother of God, and the one, holy Catholic Church of Christ. The Koran also denies the Divinity of Christ and that all who believe in it are as excrement]

[ Hey...but didn't I say that hell was not an actual place and that it might be empty?...Audience to Polish fellow countrymen, Antipope John Paul II, recalling the teachings of the heretic Hans Urs von balthasar that, "There is a Hell, but it could be empty."]

Enough said...some pictures to complete the picture ( no pun intended)

[ Antipope John Paul II sees Hope in Rock N' Roll... During his visit to Tokyo in 1981, John Paul II was entertained by a rock quartet called the Dark Ducks. Very soon the Ducks realized they had become a quintet. Antipope John Paul II had picked up a microphone and was singing with them. "Pope sees hope in rock ' n' roll - Chicago Tribune.

Monsignor Dominico Siagalinini, a spokesman for the Eucharistic Congress said:
' The Popes idea is to get closer to young people through pop music, which unfortunately for many years has been viewed with suspicion and indifference by the Church. The Church has come to terms with the language of young people. We don't want to create a Catholic rock n' roll, but we do want to encourage a rock n' roll which expresses our values."]....(There is no such thing as 'Christian rock', it is all from the same place...HELL!)...Christian = Catholic.

"Pope" Benedict XVI ( 2005 - 20-- )

On 19 April 2005, the Catholic world was assaulted by yet another brain numbing illusion staged by the counterfeit church in Rome. From the conclave emerged yet another agent - provocateur of the "Church of Darkness" masquerading as the new Vicar of Christ, but in reality is but the fifth actor in a series of modern day antipopes since 1958, when Angelo Roncalli, a.k.a., "John XXIII", ROAN ( freemasonic code name), first appeared on the balcony, pretending to be the head of the Catholic Church.

[Antipope Benedict XVI picks up the "Broken Cross" where his predecessors of happy memory left it..]

It was ably assisted in this mass deception by a Judeo- Masonic news media which assured the public that Joseph Ratzinger, a.k.a., "Benedict XVI", is a " strict conservative", a "doctrinarian", and "hardliner". Indeed, to play his role convincingly as a "friend" of Catholic tradition, Ratzinger lashed out at what he called " the dictatorship of relativism"; denounced the ordination of women as a "serious attack on the unity of the Church"[ I guess over time he conveniently forgot about this by the time those lady" bishops" in Germany were "consecrated"just recently, or did someone high up simply forget to remind him... he,he, he] and condemned homosexuality as " a moral evil".

Throwing a few bones like these to naive, gullible Catholics is apparently all it takes to convince them that Ratzinger, who was a member of the Modernist ( Modernism condemned by Pope Pius X) " Rhine group" at Vatican II , is now a champion of Catholic orthodoxy.

[ At Vatican Council II, Father Ratzinger dressed in layman's suit and tie, like the modernist he really was and still is]
To find out just exactly what this new "conservative" leader of the counterfeit conciliar church( former Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) in Rome, holds as a matter of Faith we need not look any further than Ratzinger's revealing book, "Principles of Catholic Theology",1987, Ignatius Press, San Francisco:

On the historical reality of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ

"The Resurrection cannot be a[n] historical event in the same sense as [was] the Crucifixion..." (Joseph Ratzinger, p.186)

The following is a condemned proposition from Pope St. Pius X's "Lamentabili Sane"; The Syllabus Condemning The Errors Of The Modernists: "No. 36. the Resurrection of the Savior is not properly a fact of the historical order. It is a fact of merely the supernatural order ( neither demonstrated nor demonstrable) which the Christian conscience gradually derived from other facts."

[Please note: I try to use the color red for the "bad" guys and the color blue for the "good" guys...chuckle, chuckle]

[ Antipope Benedict XVI accepts the devil's book ( Koran) which he praises like his predecessor of happy memory...same as "kissing" the Koran in spirit...total Apostasy]
Well, there you go...I don't need to proceed any further with this line of attack, 'cause the guys an 'out and out' heretic from the start...Pope Pius X has just condemned him as a Modernist. As a heretic, of course, he is outside the Church and cannot be head of that Body of which he is not a member....Q.E.D. [for the Latin students, it translates as, "that which was set out to be proved"...quod erat demonstrandum]
ON TRUTH

"Both the Catholic and Protestant interpretation of Christianity have meaning each in its own way; they are true in their historical moment... Truth becomes a function of time...fidelity to yesterdays truth consists precisely in abandoning it in assimilating it into today's truth..." Joseph Ratzinger, p. 16]
"The truth is whatever serves progress, that is, whatever serves the logic of history." (Joseph Ratzinger, p.17) [ oh, yeah. ...or whatever I want it to mean...]

"...ultimately in truth, he(man) becomes one with his ego." (Joseph Ratzinger, p.300) [ whoa , whoa, whoa.!]

______________________ON THE CHURCH
"We ourselves become uncertain about our Christian faith." (Joseph Ratzinger, p.42)
ON ECUMENISM
"The Catholic does not insist on the dissolution of the Protestant confession and the demolishing of their churches, but hopes rather that they will be strengthened in their confessions and in their eccesial reality." ( Joseph Ratzinger, p.202) [ What?]
[Dont Forget, the blue are the good guys!] [Antipope Benedict XVI exchanges masonic handshake with Tony Blair...now which one is the freemason?]

ON EVOLUTION

"The impetus given by Teilhard de Chardin exerted a wide influence. With daring vision it incorporated the historical movement of Christianity into the great cosmic process of evolution." (Joseph Ratzinger, p.34)
[ " Mr. Darwin, the Gorilla says that you are insulting his ancestors..." ]

In his 1950 encyclical, "Humani Generis," Pope Pius XII denounced the "...fictitious tenets of evolution which repudiate all that is absolute, firm and immutable..."

ON SIN
"Many a false anxiety about sin, created by a narrow-minded moral theology, and all too often nourished and encouraged by spiritual advisors, avenges itself today by leading people to regard the Christianity of the past as a kind of harassment that kept man constantly in opposition to himself; instead of freeing him for open and anxiety free co-operation with men of good will." (Joseph Ratzinger, p.56)
[ this guy does not believe in sin....and that should have read " with men of bad will, like Ratzinger...]
"Morality and immorality seem to enslave man to make him joyless and empty. "(Joseph Ratzinger,p. 141) [ speak for yourself!]
Here, he equates GOOD with EVIL = Manicheaism
"Luther's historical instinct is clearly proving itself right." (Joseph Ratzinger,p. 141) [ Martin Luther, formally a Jesuit Catholic priest, was perhaps the most notorious heretic in the history of the Catholic Church][ Condemned by Pope Leo X, 3 January, 1521 in his papal bull of excommunication, "Exurge Domine."]
Martin Luther taught: "Be a sinner and sin boldly, but believe and rejoice in Christ even more boldly...No sin will separate us from the Lamb, even though we commit fornication and murder a thousand times a day." ( Weimer Edition, Vol. 2, p.372; "Letters I," Luther's Works, American Edition, Vol. 48, p.282) [ hey, that sound just like Ol' Ratzinger, doesn't it]
ON THE REAL PRESENCE OF JESUS IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST
To me, the following is a "shocker", and will show you that this guy is not even Catholic but mocks God and His Church at every turn of the corner!
Taken from his book, "Die Sakramentale Begrundung Christlicher Existenz" ( The Sacramental Reason For Christian Existence) 1966, Kyrios Publishing , Freeising-Meitingen (Germany):
"Eucharistic devotion such as is noted in the silent visit by the devout in church must not be thought of as a conversation with God. This would assume that God was present there locally and in a confined way. To justify such an assertion shows a lack of understanding of the Christological mysteries of the very conceopt of God. This is repugnant to the serious thinking of the man who knows about the omnipresence of God. To go to church on the ground that one can visit God Who is present there is a senseless act which the modern man rightfully rejects." ( Joseph Ratzinger).[ How much more UN-CATHOLIC can it get!]
Well, let's see what the Holy Council Of Trent, Canon IV has to say about all of that!
"If anyone says that after the consecration is complete, the body and blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ are not the Sacrament of the Eucharist... and in the consecrated hosts or particles which are reserved (in the Tabernacle), the True Body and Blood of Our Lord remain not,let him be anathema."

[Since I don't really believe in this stuff anyway, at least I can promote my own brand of Beer...whoa...she's got a good head on 'er...careful now ,don't spill it..I don't want to waste any of this precious stuff before I quaffe it down after I do the "consecration thingy!"]

[ Sorry, Ratzinger, ol' boy...you have been declared "ANATHEMA" by the Catholic Church, which, by the way you don't even belong to...he,he,he]

To this date Joseph Ratzinger,a.k.a. "Benedict XVI" has never repudiated the ideas published in his works, nor recanted even his blasphemous denial of the central doctrine of the Catholic Faith above.
In spite of all the evidence which can easily be produced to show his defection from the Catholic Faith, which his followers seem to ignore, perhaps because they hope that he will bring the conciliar church back on the right course and reject the policies of the conciliar "popes"[ antipopes],Ratzinger, a.k.a."Benedict XVI has pledged to continue the implementation of Vatican II, a non- catholic, apostate council.
[ To keep the uninformed Catholic faithful "within the fold" of the counterfeit church as long as possible, antipope "Benedict XVI" will initate a number of impostures to make the hopelessly gullible believe that the return of the "good ol' days"at their local parishes is just around the corner...like permitting a wider use of the traditional Mass which will be to no avail, since practically all the priests who take up the offer will be "ordained" in the new invalid rite of Antipope Paul VI, so that the newly "legalised" Latin Mass will be nothing more than a sacrilegious pantomine of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.]
To a large extent Ratzinger, choreographed the activities of his mentor, Karol Wojtyla, a.k.a. antipope John Paul II, during the last 15 years of his life. And now, after remaining partly hidden behind the curtains , the puppet-master has emerged upon CENTRE STAGE
[Hey, what happened to the BLACK ink?]

[ Oh, yes, nearly forgot about this one...Antipope Benedict XVI plans to "canonize" Antipope JP II sometime early next year and maybe the apostate Mother Theresa as well...we may well be witnessing -if that happens ( Antipope Benedict XVI canonizing Antipope JPII), the" second beast" ( "Benedict XVI" ) making an image of the "first beast" ( "John Paul II" ) and causing all to worship him ...Apoc....

[They have already erected a large bronze statue of Antipope John Paul II in Sydney, Australia to coincide with Antipope "Benedict XVI's" visit for WYD in July this year ].
Was Antipope John Paul II the Final Antichrist, for along with Antipope Paul VI, he fulfilled all the requirements to warrent that claim...he along with Paul VI "dissolved Christ into every man"...repeatedly, when he proclaimed that "Christmas is the feast of man" , Dec 1978....and that "man is the way...the truth...and the light...1989...et al...he preached ' Man in the place of God',repeatedly ,and in many ways , sometimes very subtle and clever, other times very obvious and bold.
[ Best mates! Apostate Mother Therese holds hands with fellow apostate JP II...'birds of a feather'...Mother Theresa held that all religions are good and encouraged people to stay in their false religions...so all her good works were as nought!]

[ Hullo, hullo, hullo...what's this...a nun handing out communion...I thought that practice had been condemned by the Catholic Church...novus ordo, no problem...Mother Theresa distributes Holy Communion ( well was it ?)]

If all that happens, then we could be close to the end! There is no doubt, that we are in the very last days of the Great Apostasy. Nearly 50 years without a pope has never been seen in the history of the Catholic Church - [It is believed Cardinal Siri was elected in both the 1958 and 1963 conclaves but was forced by the enemies of the Church to step aside...so he was probably a valid pope at least until he went along with the apostate Vatican II church sometime later.]

ANTIPOPES OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH - Sunday 29 June, Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul

Antipopes in the History of the Catholic Church up to and including Antipopes of the Vatican II religion

In the 2000 year history of the Catholic Church, there have been more than 40 antipopes. That is, a bishop who claims to be a pope, but was not canonically elected as Bishop of Rome.

The Catholic Church teaches...

A heretic would cease to be pope, and that a heretic couldn't be validly elected pope

The Catholic Encyclopedia, "Heresy," 1914, vol.7, p. 261:

"The pope himself, if notoriously guilty of heresy, would cease to be pope because he would cease to be a member of the Church."

Heresy is the obstinate denial or doubt by a baptized person of an article of divine and Catholic Faith. A person who denies one authoritative teaching of the Catholic Church is a heretic.

Besides antipopes reigning from Rome due to uncanonical elections, the Catholic Church teaches that if a pope were to become a heretic he would automatically lose his office and cease to be the pope. This is the teaching of all the doctors and Fathers of the church who addressed the issue.

St. Francis de Sales (17th century), Doctor of the Church, The Catholic Controversy, pp. 305-306:

"Now when he [the pope] is explicitly a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church...""St. Antoninus (1459): "In the case in which the pope would become a heretic, he would find himself, by that fact alone and without any other sentence, separated from the Church. A head separated from a body cannot, as long as it remains separated, be head of the same body from which it was cut of. A pope who would be separated from the Church by heresy, therefore, would by that very fact itself cease to be head of the Church. He could not be a heretic and remain pope, because , since he is outside of the Church, he cannot possess the keys of the Church." (Summa Theologica, cited in Actes de Vatica I. V. Frond pub.)

The case in which a pope prior to his election fell into heresy, is covered by Pope Paul IV, in his Bull, Cum ex Apostolatus Officio, Feb. 15, 1559 [ covered in an earlier article]

[ That's a lot of Antipopes, when you consider we have had 260 popes since St. Peter, and according to my calculations [e = mC2/2000 - 1999x (y/b) + constant],
with a margin of error of + or - 4%.
...means that the chances of having an antipope are 16.1%...that seems pretty high, doesn't it, especially when you realize that Christ only managed 8.25% in the 'failed' dept, we have since managed to double that!
Note: where e, is estimate, m is my, C is calculation (squared), y=1,b=1, constant is short for Constantinople ( I thought it would look good in there)
[If you would like to see how I came up with those figures, don't forget to apply the BODMAS rule...or you will come up with some stupid results].
To be continued...

LATIN FOR BEGINNERS - June 26- Feast of Sts. John and Paul

LATIN FOR BEGINNERS Introduction

I thought it might be fun posting the odd article on some aspect of the Latin language, after one day quite recently picking up one of my old Latin text books, (under my bed, and after blowing all the dust off it) a book which contains some sixty odd translations from Latin into English

The aim of this particular textbook is to introduce the Latin language to the BEGINNER by way of an interesting history of the Rise of Rome, the invasion and subsequent conquest of Britain, and finally in the final chapter LX (that’s 60 in Latin) chapter, [or perhaps I should refer to them as pieces because that is how the author introduces them] the End of the Roman Occupation of Great Britain. [ The book I will be using is “A FIRST LATIN READER, by C. J. Vincent, M.A. 1936, reprint 1966] ( It was thrown out of a public library some 20 years ago!)…thank you very much… There are accompanying exercises with each piece, and I haven’t as yet decided whether to include them, but as they are translating English into Latin it could be a good idea.

The Church in her wisdom, decided on the use of a ‘dead’ language, because as such, being no longer a secular language, it is immune from change associated with use over time. That is, its meaning can never change just as the unchangeable teachings of the one true Church founded by Jesus Christ can never change. _____________________________

PRONUNCIATION What about correct pronunciation of Latin? Apparently the way the Romans spoke Latin was slightly different to Church Latin…that’s what I was told….but, how does anyone know how the early Romans spoke in their day to day lives? We don’t have any tape recordings of them talking, do we?..(we were told that the “v” in Latin was pronounced as a “w”, so instead of saying “in vino veritas” ( which means “ in wine there is truth”), the Romans would have spoken it thus, “in wino weritas”, …

If you attend a Traditional Mass (in Latin, of course.) you should pick up correct pronunciation from Altar boys (servers/acolytes) and the Priest…so you are getting “from the horses mouth” so to speak, providing have been paying attention, of course…during Mass. So you are getting a free lesson there…don’t waste it …follow along in your Missal a few times is a good idea. {note there are several ways to pray at Mass, which I hope to cover in future ) “From the horses mouth”, wonder where that saying came from? Have to look up Google sometime… Anycase , I refuse to pronounce the way those early Romans did…it sounds much, much better in Church Latin…

THE COURSE –GETTING STARTED The early pieces for translation deal with some of the more Romantic episodes in the rise of Rome, while the remainder describe the invasion and subsequent conquest of Britain. The content therefore has the advantage of a continuous narrative interest The short historical introductions can be amplified according to the whims of the reader. At the end of this course (?) some knowledge of the early history of Rome and of Roman Britain should have been acquired (that’s what C. J. Vincent reckons ). At the outset only a minimum of grammar is assumed For the first five pieces all that need be known is the declension of mensa, annus, puer, bellum, bonus.

What are Declensions?
Well, as some of you probably don’t know, Latin is a very heavily inflected language, that is to say, the endings of words vary according to which part of speech they belong to….When we are discussing nouns or naming words, we refer to its form as the case of that noun… We are still talking about Nouns….Learn these CASES off ‘by heart’:

Nominative is the case of the subject of a sentence

The Vocative case is the addressing of someone or thing viz O, Henry! Wherefore art thou….etc

The Accusative case is the case of the direct object of a sentence

The Genitive corresponds to the English Possessive Case …belonging to

The Dative is the case of the indirect object, marked by the presence of “ to” or “for”

The Ablative case is indicated in English by prepositions “by”, “with’, “from” Latin nouns fall into five classes classes called

Declensions

First Declension nouns are declined like mensa, mensae, f, a table.

CASE               SINGULAR                                   PLURAL
______________________________________________

Nom.     mens-a       a table (subj.)             mens-ae        tables (subj.)
Voc.      mens-a       O table!                       mens-ae        table! O tables!
Acc.      mens-am    a table (obj.)               mens-as        tables (obj.)
Gen.     mens-ae      of a table                     mens-arum    of tables
Dat.      mens-ae     to, for a table               mens-is          to, for tables
Abl.      mens-a   by, with, from a table     mens-is       by, with, from tables
______________________________________________

The declension to which the noun belongs is indicated by the ending of the Genitive singular That’s the nouns, briefly! You have to remember them by heart…

Second declension nouns are declined like Dominus, -i, m,. master or lord:

Thus murus, -i, m (2) wall is declined like dominus

CASE                SINGULAR                                    PLURAL
_____________________________________________

Nom. domin-us   a master (subj.)           domin-i        masters (subj.)

Voc.   domin-e     O master!                     domin-i        O masters!

Acc.   domin-um  a master (obj.)             domin-os       masters (obj.)

Gen.  domin-i      of a master                    domin-orum   of masters

Dat.   domin-o    to, for a master              domin-is     to, for masters

Abl.   domin-o  by, with, from a master  domin-is    by, with, from masters
-----------------------------------------------______________________-----

VERBS Verbs like nouns are also inflected and more than English verbs, so that while English has lost it’s inflections (endings), Latin is a highly inflected language. Verbs may be inflected to indicate person, e.g. I run, he runs; or to indicate number, e.g, he runs , but they ran; or again to indicate tense, e.g. I run, I ran.

Verbs are classed into four goups called Conjugations.

The class or conjugation a verb belongs is shown us by the ending of its present infinitive active. For example, the present infinitive active of all verbs of the first conjugation or class ends in –are, e.g. amare, to love O.K. Now that you understand all that we shall start the adventure proper!. In Latin, as in English, the subject is in the Nominative Case, and the verb is in the same person and number as the subject: Graecus navigat, a Greek sails Graeci navigant, Greeks sail

… I am going to add the Present indicative of amare, to love.
That’s a first conjugation word….in the vocab section of textbooks, dictionary you will usually see a number after the verb bracketed thus: (1) or (2)…(5)

Yep, these five of these things to learn, but I don’t expect we will get beyond (1) the first declension, …. So, you will see that the verb to sail, navigo, navigare (1) is conjugated just like amare, to love…..just add endings thus, o, s, t, mus, tis, nt. And that applies to all first conjugated (1) verbs…..: If the subject seems to be missing, it is found in the verb: Navigat, he sails, navigant, they sail’

Adjectives (describing words) agree in gender (masculine, feminine or neuter), number and case with the noun they qualify. Murus altus, a high wall; muri alti, high walls Porta magna, a great gate The verb “to be” in Latin, as in English, is followed by the nominative case. Murus est altus, the wall is high The object in Latin is in the Accusative Case (except after certain verbs) Graeci portam oppugnaverunt, the Greeks attacked the gate Graeci murum aedificaverunt, Greeks built the wall.

I

Troy Paris, who was really the son of Priam, king of Troy, a city near the entrance to the Dardanelles , was brought up by a shepherd. When he grew up, he so distinguished himself at game meetings that the king acknowledged him as his son. Later, he went on a visit to Greece, where he stayed with Menelaus, the king of Sparta. Menelaus’ wife was Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world. Paris fell in love with her, and persuaded her to elope with him to his father’s city of Troy. Thousands of Greeks,in anger at the insult to the king of Sparta, joined together in an expedition to capture Troy and bring Helen back. The Trojans put up such a stout resistance that the siege lasted ten years, but in the end Troy was taken by a trick.

Troia erat oppidum magnum in Asia. Muri erant alti et validi. Graeci multi ad Asiam navigaverunt et oppidum oppugnaverunt; sed Troianos non superaverunt. Inde Graeci Troianos consilio novo superaverunt. Equum magnum et ligneum aedificant, quem viris complent.

Vocab…[to assist you a little or a lot…] Quem, which; rel pronoun., acc case sing., masc Viris, with men; abl case Oppidum,(2), town; Murus (2), wall; Magnus, adj, great; Validus, adj, strong; Equus (2), horse; Ligneus, adj, wooden; Consilium (2), plan; novus, new; supero (1), to overcome compleo,-ere, -evi,-etum, (2) to fill; oppugno,(1) , to attack; inde, then Graecus, -i, m. How many of you know this famous catholic hymn in Gregorian chant mode:

"Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement. O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.

What's Wrong with the New Mass? June 21, Feast of St. Aloysius

________________________________

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE NEW MASS? For a start it's INVALID.

And here's a couple of good reasons why:

#1 QUO PRIMUM

In his famous Bull Quo Primum, Pope Pius V forbade changing the traditional Latin Mass.

Pope St.Pius V, Quo Primum Tempore, July 14, 1570:

[ Anno a Nativitate Domini 1570; Indict. 13, die vero 19 mensis Julii,...Papae V anno eius quinto...]

Quo Primum Tempore

"Now, therefore , in order that all everywhere may adopt and observe what has been delivered to them by the Holy Roman Church, Mother and Mistress of the other churches, it shall be unlawful henceforth and forever throughout the christian world to sing or to read Masses according to any formula other than this Missal published by US ...Accordingly, no one whomsoever is permitted to infringe or rashly contravene this notice of OUR permission, statute, ordinance, command, direction, grant, indult, declaration, will, decree, prohibition. Should any venture to do so, let him understand that he
will incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul."

_______________________________

On April 3, 1969, Antipope Paul VI, replaced the Traditional Mass in the Vatican II churches with his own creation, the New Mass or Novus Ordo Missae.[with the help of six Protestants]

Antipope Paul VI even admitted to his good friend Jean Guitton that his intention in changing the Mass was to make it Protestant. Jean Guitton wrote: "The intention of Pope Paul VI with regard to what is commonly called the [New] Mass, was to reform the Catholic liturgy in such a way that it should almost coincide with Protestant liturgy. There was with Pope Paul VI an ecumenical intention to remove, or, at least to relax, what was too Catholic in the traditional sense in the Mass and, I repeat, to get the Catholic Mass closer to the Calvanist Mass."

And then we have Pope Pius V's decree, De Defectibus, (concerning defects in the Mass) :

__________________________________________

#2 Pope St. Pius V, De Defectibus, chapter 5, Part 1:

"The words of the Consecration, which are the FORM of this Sacrament, are these: FOR THIS IS MY BODY. And: FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MYBLOOD, OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL TESTAMENT: THE MYSTERY OF FAITH, WHICH SHALL BE SHED FOR YOU AND FOR MANY UNTO THE REMISSION OF SINS." Now if one were to remove, or change anything in the FORM of the Consecration of the Body and Blood , and in that very change of words the [new] wording would fail to mean the same thing, he would not consecrate the sacrament."

[This teaching appeared in the front of all Roman Altar Missals from 1570 up until 1962. After that it Disappeared!]
Notice that in the vernacular translations of the New Mass throughout the world, the words of consecration have been changed and omitted:

FORM OF CONSECRATION IN THE NEW MASS
_______________________________

"For this is my body. For this is the chalice of my blood , of the new and eternal testament. It shall be shed for you and FOR ALL SO THAT SINS MAY BE FORGIVEN."

The words " for you and for many unto the remissin of sins " have been changed to for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. The word "many" has been removed and replaced with the word "all ." This huge change invalidates all the New Masses.

First, the word many was used by Jesus to institute the sacrament of the Eucharist, as we see in Matthew 26:28: " for this is my blood of the new testament , which shall be shed for many unto the remission of sins." The words used by Our Lord, "for many unto the remission of sins," represent the efficacy of the blood that Jesus shed. Jesus's blood is effective for the salvation of many, not all men. [ the blood of Jesus was shed for all men, but the fruit which mankind received from it applies to many of the human race and not to all men- Council of Trent]

And since "all" does not mean the same thing as "many", the sacrament is not confected in the New Mass.

There are a few other points which could be raised ( like "mysterium fidei" missing in the New "Mass" and invalid priests in the Vatican II church-[ to be covered later]) to show why the New Mass is invalid , but the as demonstrated above, it is amply clear that a Catholic cannot attend the New "Mass" under pain of mortal sin. Those who persist in doing so are committing idolatry (worshipping a piece of bread).

Jesus Christ is not present there.

[Fortunately, traditional Catholics know that most, if not all of these people are not validly ordained, being part of the Novus Ordo religion, and as such have no power to approve or change any Catholic practice or teaching]

QUO PRIMUM

Papal Bull decreed by Pope Saint Pius V on July 14, 1570 which set in stone for all time the exactness of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to be said in the Mother Tongue of the Church
ex decretoSs. Concilii Tridentini restitutumSummorum Pontificum curarecognitum
editio XXXI post typicam

PIUS EPISCOPUS ROMA servus servorum Dei AD PERPETUAM REI MEMORIAM

Datum Romae apud S. Petrum, anno Incarnationis Dominicae millesimo quingentesimo septuagesimo, pridie Idus Julii, Pontificatus nostri anno quinto.

PIUS: BISHOP OF ROME Servant of the Servants of God FOR AN EVERLASTING MEMORIAL

Upon our elevation to the Apostolic throne We gladly turned Our mind and energies, and directed all Our thoughts, to the matter of preserving incorrupt the public worship of the Church; and We have striven, with God’s help, by every means in Our power to achieve that purpose.

Whereas amongst other decrees of the Holy Council of Trent We were charged with revision and re-issue of the sacred books, to wit the Catechism, the Missal and the Breviary; and whereas We have with God’s consent published a Catechism for the instruction of the faithful, and thoroughly revised the Breviary for the due performance of the Divine Office, We next, in order that Missal and Breviary might be in perfect harmony, as is right and proper (considering that it is altogether fitting that there should be in the Church only one appropriate manner of Psalmody and one sole rite of celebrating Mass), deemed it necessary to give Our immediate attention to what still remained to be done, namely the re-editing of the Missal with the least possible delay.

We resolved accordingly to delegate this task to a select committee of scholars; and they, having at every stage of their work and with the utmost care collated the ancient codices in Our Vatican Library and reliable (original or amended) codices from elsewhere, and having also consulted the writing of ancient and approved authors who have bequeathed to us records relating to the said sacred rites, thus restored the Missal itself to the pristine form and rite of the holy Fathers. When this production had been subjected to close scrutiny and further amended We, after mature consideration, ordered that the final result be forthwith printed and published in Rome, so that all may enjoy the fruits of this labor: that priests may know what prayers to use, and what rites and ceremonies they are to use henceforward in the celebration of Masses.

Now therefore, in order that all everywhere may adopt and observe what has been delivered to them by the Holy Roman Church, Mother and Mistress of the other churches, it shall be unlawful henceforth and forever throughout the Christian world to sing or to read Masses according to any formula other than that of this Missal published by Us; this ordinance to apply to all churches and chapels, with or without care of souls, patriarchal, collegiate and parochial, be they secular or belonging to any religious Order whether of men (including the military Orders) or of women, in which conventual Masses are or ought to be sung aloud in choir or read privately according to the rites and customs of the Roman Church; to apply moreover even if the said churches have been in any way exempted, whether by indult of the Apostolic See, by custom, by privilege, or even by oath or Apostolic confirmation, or have their rights and faculties guaranteed to them in any other way whatsoever; saving only those in which the practice of saying Mass differently was granted over two hundred years ago simultaneously with the Apostolic See’s institution and confirmation of the church, and those in which there has prevailed a similar custom followed continuously for a period of not less than two hundred years; in which cases We in no wise rescind their prerogatives or customs aforesaid. Nevertheless, if this Missal which We have seen fit to publish be more agreeable to these last, We hereby permit them to celebrate Mass according to this rite, subject to the consent of their bishop or prelate, and of their whole Chapter, all else to the contrary notwithstanding. All other churches aforesaid are hereby denied the use of other missals, which are to be wholly and entirely rejected; and by this present Constitution, which shall have the force of law in perpetuity, We order and enjoin under pain of Our displeasure that nothing be added to Our newly published Missal, nothing omitted therefrom, and nothing whatsoever altered there in.

We specifically command each and every patriarch, administrator and all other persons of whatsoever ecclesiastical dignity, be they even Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church, or, possessed of any other rank or pre-eminence, and We order them by virtue of holy obedience to sing or to read the Mass according to the rite and manner and norm herein laid down by Us, and henceforward to discontinue and utterly discard all other rubrics and rites of other missals, howsoever ancient, which they have been accustomed to follow, and not to presume in celebrating Mass to introduce any ceremonies or recite any prayers other than those contained in this Missal.

Furthermore, by these presents and by virtue of Our Apostolic authority, We give and grant in perpetuity that for the singing or reading of Mass in any church whatsoever this Missal may be followed absolutely, without any scruple of conscience or fear of incurring any penalty, judgment or censure, and may be freely and lawfully used. Nor shall bishops, administrators, canons, chaplains and other secular priests, or religious of whatsoever Order or by whatsoever title designated, be obliged to celebrate Mass otherwise than enjoined by Us. We likewise order and declare that no one whosoever shall be forced or coerced into altering this Missal; the force of law, notwithstanding previous constitutions or edicts of provincial or synodal councils, and notwithstanding the usage of the churches aforesaid established by very long and even immemorial prescription, saving only usage of more than two hundred years.

Consequently it is Our will, and by the same authority We decree, that one month after publication of this Our Constitution and Missal, priests of the Roman Curia shall be obliged to sing or to read the Mass in accordance therewith; others south of the Alps, after three months; those who live beyond the Alps, after six months or as soon as the Missal becomes available for purchase.

Furthermore, in order that the said Missal may be preserved incorrupt and kept free from defects and errors, the penalty for nonobservance in the case of all printers resident in territory directly or indirectly subject to Ourselves and the Holy Roman Church shall be forfeiture of their books and a fine of 100 gold ducats payable ipso facto to the Apostolic Treasury. In the case of those resident in other parts of the world it shall be excommunication latae sententiae and all other penalties at Our discretion; and by Our Apostolic authority and the tenor of these presents. We also decree that they must not dare or presume either to print or to publish or to sell, or in any way to take delivery of such books without Our approval and consent, or without express permission of the Apostolic Commissary in the said parts appointed by us for that purpose. Each of the said printers must receive from the aforementioned Commissary a standard Missal to serve as an exemplar for subsequent copies, which, when made, must be compared with the exemplar and agree faithfully therewith, varying in no wise from the first impression printed in Rome.

But, since it would be difficult for this present Constitution to be transmitted to all parts of the world and to come to the notice of all concerned simultaneously, We direct that it be, as usual, posted and published at the doors of the Basilica of the Prince of the Apostles, at those of the Apostolic Chancery, and at the end of the Campo de’Fiori; moreover We direct that printed copies of the same, signed by a notary public and authenticated with the seal of an ecclesiastical dignitary, shall possess the same unqualified and indubitable validity everywhere and in every country that would attend the display there of Our present text. Accordingly, no one whosoever is permitted to infringe or rashly contravene this notice of Our permission, statute, ordinance, command, direction, grant, indult, declaration, will, decree and prohibition.

Should any person venture to do so, let him understand that he will incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul.

Given at Saint Peter’s, Rome, in the year of Our Lord’s Incarnation one thousand five hundred and seventy, on the fourteenth day of July in the fifth year of Our Pontificate.
