Template for your own Dickie Birds - Color them in!

You will need two bird templates, print them out adjusting for size to fit your either middle/2nd finger or 1st finger of both hands.   Fix together with sellotape and then color them in, using your imagination! [see pictures below where to fix sellotape 8-)]

The lady in the video hides the birds behind her back, but I feel  it looks more convincing if you hide them behind your left and right shoulders, making sure you hide both birds in the palm of your hand before presenting either the 1st or second finger which you chose beforehand not to fit the two Dickie birds to!

Practice it a few times before trying it out on your young or old audience - they will be in awe!

When I start the demonstration I like to spin it out a bit before hand, by introducing the two little Dickie Birds to your audience.

What do I do ?

"I've got two little Dickie birds, and we can recite a rhyme about them both.    This one's called Peter, and this one's called Paul."  [ take them alternatively on a short flight in front of your audience, then settle them both back on your lap, table or whatever]

"Fly away Peter!" [ flutter him round a bit in front of your audience, and even make him disobey your command - a couple of times! ] Then 'fly' him over your right shoulder so as your audience can't see you tucking him in the palm of your right hand, if you decided Peter was going to be the Dickie bird in your right hand.

Extend the adjacent finger without the Dickie bird on it, and show to your audience.  "Where has Peter gone?"

Repeat the same for 'Paul' ... "Fly away Paul".....

Now, say, in turn. "Come back Peter," hiding the finger without the Dickie bird on it and show to your audience that Peter has returned - Amazing, how did you do that!

Do the same for Paul.

Rev. Fulton Sheen, D.D. Oracle at Adelphi. Friday 26 August, 2016 St Zephyrinus, PM

Rev. Fulton Sheen D.D. Oracle at Adelphi by Fr. Leonard Feeny - Point Magazine 1953

_______________________________

THE ORACLE AT ADELPHI

The Most Reverend Fulton J. Sheen, D. D., star of the Du Mont television program Life is Worth Living, and winner of the award “TV Man of the Year,” is the inevitable outcome, the ultimate fruit, of teaching that there is salvation outside the Catholic Church. He has taken the belief that Heaven belongs to the ignorant and the sincere as surely as to the lovers of Our Lady and the receivers of Our Lord in Holy Communion, and has pushed it to its final, fantastic conclusion. For Bishop Sheen, who first won renown by his fashionable instruction of fashionable converts, has now decided to try a new line. He has abandoned preaching the Catholic Faith, and, to the five million people who wait expectantly for his message as it is broadcast from the Adelphi Theater each Tuesday night, he expounds something he feels is more needful and more consoling: his own philosophy.

This rejection of the dogmas of the Church in favor of his own ideas has been purposeful and assiduous, and Bishop Sheen wants there to be no misunderstanding about it. He has seen to it that no matter what magazine a person might pick up, he is certain to find in it an interview with the Bishop. And the recurrent theme in all these interviews, the one point about which Bishop Sheen is most anxious, is to dissociate himself, as far as his program goes, from any tinge of Catholicism. “Mine is not a religious program,” he proclaims, in his own imitable way: “I am speaking merely as a university lecturer.”

There is no denying, of course, that as a television message, Bishop Sheen’s has it all over the Catholic Faith. The mere fact that he is the most popular performer on television, whereas if he were preaching the Faith he would be off the air in two weeks, is proof enough of that. As to just what his message is, however, it is not easy to say. He seems to be concerned mainly with fighting such evils as “boredom” and “internal conflict;” in warning his listeners against psychoanalysis, while at the same time he diagnoses their ills in psychoanalytic terms; in urging his listeners to stop reading “Nietzsche one day and Freud the next and Sartre the next” (and some other writer they have never heard of the next), and to get themselves “an abiding philosophy of life.”

The purpose of his program, he says, is to make people “think.” And this might well be the secret of his popularity. For there is undoubtedly a certain scintillation in having the whole family sit around the television screen, thinking. And the Bishop’s style of presentation is exactly suited to the thinking of America’s television watchers. “If Christ is not God, then He is Anti-Christ.” This, though taken from his religious days, is a fair sample of the kind of cogent aphorism he gives his listeners to mull over.

But it is not so much what the Bishop says that makes his listeners sit up and take notice as his manner of saying it. For every utterance he makes, from the most dire warning of what will happen to the world if it does not let itself be healed by him, to the most inane description of the kind of paper he uses to make his notes on, is delivered in the manner of an over-done Hamlet reading from the Apocalypse.

Then, too, there are the well-publicized rumors of the Bishop’s asceticism — talk of hair shirts and holy hours and hot water for breakfast — all of which gives him an unmistakable glamour and manages to make him somehow as attractive as the more lusty entertainers in whose midst he appears.

It is ironical that, in addition to his television duties, Bishop Sheen also holds the office of National Director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. The purpose of this Society is to send missionaries into the farthest corners of the world so that everyone might hear the saving message of the Catholic Faith — the very message that Bishop Sheen, speaking each week to five million people, has discarded in favor of an utterly Faith-less message of his own.

HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE

When Our Lord gave His last instructions to His Apostles, He commissioned them to go forth into every nation, preaching the Gospel and baptizing those who believed. He did not ask of them that they be successful, as the world measures success. But if He had, the man who would be best fulfilling Our Lord’s commission would be Bishop Fulton J. Sheen.

Bishop Sheen has done what no other priest has been able to do, though some notable ones have tried: he has made himself a hit with Americans. And what is more, he has done this, not on the Church’s terms, as a preacher of the Catholic Faith; he has done it on America’s terms, as an entertainer on television, in free competition with other television entertainers.

While it is true that the Bishop’s amazing popularity is largely due to the applause of Catholics, still, the ease with which he has become familiar as Uncle Fultie and the Face on the Barroom Screen shows that he has made a hit with Protestants and Jews as well. Indeed, so general has the Bishop’s popularity been, and so overwhelming, that he can well serve as a model for other priests who might want to become successful. As a service for such readers, as well as for those who are merely curious to know what Bishop Sheen has done and how he has done it, The Point has taken advantage of the lull provided by his summer vacation to make a careful analysis of his technique; and herewith it makes its report.

The first thing that strikes you about Bishop Sheen’s message is that he never allows himself to be tied down by any narrow sectarianism. He is never too specifically Catholic. He is not so much a proponent of the one, true Faith as a proponent of Religion. Here is the way he has summarized the world’s spiritual ills, as they have grown worse through the centuries: “In the sixteenth century,” he says, “we denied belief in the Church; in the seventeenth, the inspiration of Sacred Scripture; in the eighteenth, the Divinity of Christ; in the nineteenth, the existence of God; and in the twentieth, the necessity of Religion.”

Being not merely an apt student of history, but a very perceptive philosopher as well, Bishop Sheen has been quick to sense that in trying to restore these values priority must be given to those most recently lost. The modern world must be convinced first of the necessity of Religion, and after that of the existence of God, etc. The farthest the Bishop generally gets in this journey toward Faith and the Middle Ages, is the nineteenth century. Once he has succeeded in exposing the position of the atheist as being theoretically absurd and practically impossible, Bishop Sheen is inclined to let up. As long as a man gives evidence of being somehow for God, the Bishop will not press him to tell how he feels about Christ.

Protestants and Jews enjoy listening to Bishop Sheen because they can always relax when doing so. They know they will never hear anything from him to upset them — no insinuations that his religion is any better than theirs, no remarks calculated to make them feel that they ought to become Catholics. Rather, he gives them a new appreciation of their own faith and fires them with a determination to be better Protestants and better Jews than ever. He even tells them how to do this. For instance, in a pamphlet he wrote, entitled “What Can I Do?”, Bishop Sheen tells everyone how to practice better his own faith and thus unite all Americans in “a common love of God.” He tells Protestants to practice fidelity to the marriage bond and give their children instruction in their Protestant religion. He urges Jews to do their bit by keeping the Ten Commandments. And he asks Catholics to show that they do not belong to this world by giving good example.

The effect of such appeals is to make Protestants and Jews feel delighted to find that a Catholic bishop approves of their Protestantism and Judaism and wants to strengthen them in it, while at the same time it lets Catholics know, by a certain added intimacy that only they will notice, that they are really his special favorites.

Despite the publicity he has received as a convert-maker, Bishop Sheen would never suggest on radio or television that his non-Catholic listeners ought to come into the Church. The Bishop has had long experience speaking on the air, and he knows that such suggestions are not allowed. That is why he prefers to make his appeal more for a return to generic religion than for a return to the Catholic Faith. On those occasions when he is forced to become organizationally specific and refer to the Church, he is very careful to present it in such a way that no one could possibly consider his remarks offensive to other religions. The mission of the Church, as presented by Bishop Sheen, is not so much to save souls — he seldom mentions eternal salvation at all — as to eliminate the need for a psychoanalyst and to provide a consistent philosophy of life. He is not so much concerned with those aspects of truth that belong to the Faith alone as with those that have a larger heritage. It is the morals, the ethics, and the logic of the Faith that he prefers to emphasize — those things that came to Christianity from the pagan Greeks rather than those things that came to it from Christ.

In an article in Cosmopolitan magazine, Bob Considine tells how he asked Bishop Sheen if he ever eliminated certain Catholic dogmas that might scare off Protestant and Jewish viewers of his television program. The Bishop’s answer illustrates perfectly the attitude he takes in presenting the Faith: “There is nothing in my television sermons,” he replied, “that one cannot find in Aristotle.” This pre-Christian outlook on Christianity accounts for the fact that, although Bishop Sheen holds the title of U. S. director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, there is only one thing that ever gets propagated to the U. S. Protestants and Jews who watch the Bishop on television, and that is his own personality.

False Apparitions (Divine Mercy, Bayside, Medjugorje)

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12: “Whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders, And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying.  That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity.”

False Apparitions

A sign at Bayside, but not a sign from Heaven

Prophecy of Marie Julie Jahenny, Briton Stigmatist (1891): “During the time of the approach of the punishments announced at La Salette, an unlimited amount of false revelations will arise from Hell like a swarm of flies; a last attempt of Satan to choke and destroy the belief in the true revelations by false ones.”

Matthew 24:24-25: “Then if any man shall say to you: Lo here is Christ, or there, do not believe him.  For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect.  Behold I have told it to you, before hand.  If therefore they shall say to you: Behold He is in the desert, go ye not out: Behold He is in the closets, believe it not.”

Besides those covered above, there are many other modern false apparitions.  Any apparition which favors Vatican II or the Vatican II antipopes is proven by that fact to contradict Catholic teaching.  It therefore cannot be from God.

Very Few Are Saved & Most of the World, including Most Catholics, are Damned. Friday 26 Aug. 2016. St. Zephyrinus, PM

Catholics must also understand that few are saved.

Our Lord Jesus Christ revealed that the road to Heaven is straight and narrow and few find it, while the road to Hell is wide and taken by most (Mt. 7:13).

Matthew 7:13- “Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat.  How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life, and few there are that find it!

Luke 13:24- “Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter, and shall not be able.”

Scripture also teaches that almost the entire world lies in darkness, so much so that Satan is even called the “prince” (John 12:31) and “god” (2 Cor. 4:3) of this world.

1 John 5:19- “We know that we are of God, and the whole world is seated in wickedness.”

It’s the sad fact of history that most people in the world are of bad will and don’t want the truth.  That’s why almost the whole world lies in darkness and on the road to perdition.  This has been the case since the beginning.  It was the case when only eight souls (Noe and his family) escaped God’s wrath in the deluge that covered the entire earth, and when the Israelites rejected God’s law and fell into idolatry over and over again.

The truth is that for those who truly believe in God, accept His full truth (the Catholic Faith), don’t compromise it and want to do the right thing, it’s not hard to reach Heaven.  As Christ said, “My yoke is sweet and My burden light” (Mt. 11:30).  The reason that so few make it is not because it’s that hard, but because they refuse to believe the simple and easy things He has revealed, and do the simple and easy things He has commanded.  Those who do what God wants and believe what He says realize that they are much happier than they were before.

But the sad truth is that almost all people are of bad will.  This is why the saints and Doctors of the Church have consistently taught only a very small percentage of people are saved.  In fact, the saints and Doctors of the Church, even during the ages of faith, taught that most adult Catholics are lost.

Saint Leonard of Port Maurice [A.D. 1676-1751], on the fewness of the saved: “After consulting all the theologians and making a diligent study of the matter, he [Suarez] wrote, ‘The most common sentiment which is held is that, among Christians [Catholics], there are more damned souls than predestined souls.’  Add the authority of the Greek and Latin Fathers to that of the theologians, and you will find that almost all of them say the same thing. This is the sentiment of Saint Theodore, Saint Basil, Saint Ephrem, Saint John Chrysostom. What is more, according to Baronius it was a common opinion among the Greek Fathers that this truth was expressly revealed to Saint Simeon Stylites and that after this revelation, it was to secure his salvation that he decided to live standing on top of a pillar for forty years, exposed to the weather, a model of penance and holiness for everyone.  Now let us consult the Latin Fathers. You will hear Saint Gregory saying clearly, “Many attain to faith, but few to the heavenly kingdom.” Saint Anselm declares, “There are few who are saved.” Saint Augustine states even more clearly, “Therefore, few are saved in comparison to those who are damned.”  The most terrifying, however, is Saint Jerome. At the end of his life, in the presence of his disciples, he spoke these dreadful words: “Out of one hundred thousand people whose lives have always been bad, you will find barely one who is worthy of indulgence.”

When Saint Leonard of Port Maurice uses the term “Christian,” he means Catholics, not heretics.  Saint Leonard is repeating the consistent teaching of the Fathers and Doctors: most adult Catholics (not even including the non-Catholic world) are lost.  If this was the sentiment about the salvation of Catholics in the ages of faith, what would they say today?  If you have trouble accepting the truths presented on this website because “it’s just too hard to believe that this many people could be wrong or deceived,” consider the teaching of Our Lord and the saints above.  Consider how much more true the teaching on the fewness of the saved is today:

“Lucia found Jacinta sitting alone, still and very pensive, gazing at nothing.  ‘What are you thinking of, Jacinta?’  ‘Of the war that is going to come.  So many people are going to die.  And almost all of them are going to Hell.’” (Our Lady of Fatima, p. 94; p. 92 in some versions)

Jacinta of Fatima, who had visions of future events, said that of those who would die in World War II almost all of them would go to Hell.

Saint Anselm: “If thou wouldst be certain of being in the number of the elect, strive to be one of the few, not of the many.  And if thou wouldst be quite sure of thy salvation, strive to be among the fewest of the few… Do not follow the great majority of mankind, but follow those who enter upon the narrow way, who renounce the world, who give themselves to prayer, and who never relax their efforts by day or by night, that they may attain everlasting blessedness.” (Fr. Martin Von Cochem, The Four Last Things, p. 221.)

First:    I am the Lord thy God;  thou shalt not have strange gods before Me.

Second:   Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain

Third:     Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day

Fourth:    Honour thy father and thy mother.

Fifth:     Thou shalt not kill.

Sixth:     Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Seventh:   Thou shalt not steal.

Eighth:      Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Ninth:   Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife.

Tenth:    Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's goods.

We are concerned here about the First of these Ten Commandments ...

II.     The First Commandment - The Worship Of False Gods

We are commanded by the first commandment to worship the one, true, and living God, by Faith, Hope, Charity, and other duties of religion.

III.    What The Bible Says

Exodus 20:3 ...'thou shalt not have strange gods before Me...'

...'the gods of the heathens are devils'... 1 Cor. 10:20

IV.     What the Catholic Church Teaches

We know with certainty what God has revealed to us from the teachings of His Church, which is the "pillar and ground of truth."  - 1 Tim, 3, 15

The chief sins against Religion are the worship of false gods or idols, and the giving to any creature whatsoever the honour which belongs to God alone.

Pope Pius XI

Pope Pius XI, in his encyclical Mortalium Animos, #10, Jan 6, 1928. Condemning interreligious gatherings..... forbade Catholics from partaking in non-Catholic assemblies..."This Apostolic See has never allowed its subjects to take part in the assemblies of non-Catholics."

V.       What The Vatican II Sect Teaches

Vatican II - Council of the Great Apostasy

In Vatican II's document Lumen Gentium, Constitution on the Church, #16 teaches that Catholics worship the same God as Muslims.    This is astounding blasphemy for Catholics worship Jesus Christ and the Most Holy Trinity and Muslims do not!

In Vatican II's document,"Nostra Aetate, on Non-Christian Religions, #2, "In Buddhism, according to its various forms, the radical inadequacy of this changing world is acknowledged and a way is taught whereby those with a devout and trustful spirit may be able to reach either a state of perfect freedom or, relying on their own efforts or on help from a higher source, the highest illumination."

Thus Vatican II says that "a way is taught" whereby men can reach the highest illumination.  This is, of course, apostasy!

Note that Paul VI, who promulgated Vatican II, also said that this false and pagan religion of Buddhism, is one of the "riches of Asia."

Antipope Paul VI - Which one is Paul VI? Maybe both, at different times!

The Bible says:

Exodus 20:3 ...'thou shalt not have strange gods before Me...'

1 Cor. 10:20...'the gods of the heathens are devils'...

And here's what John Paul II taught; he taught that the Holy Ghost is responsible for non-Christian religions and taught and practiced complete religious indifferentism:

Antipope John Paul II worships false idols

John Paul II, Redemptor Hominis, #6, March 4, 19769:  "Does it not sometimes happen that the firm belief of the followers of the non- Christian religions - belief that is also an effect of the Spirit of truth operating outside the visible confines of the Mystical Body..."

John Paul is saying that the firm belief of the followers of non-Christian religions proceeds from the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth.   Since we know from Sacred Scripture and Catholic teaching that Satan is the author of all non-Christian religions, what is being stated here by John Paul II is that the Holy Spirit , the Spirit of Truth, is actually the spirit of lies: Satan.    This is unbelievable blasphemy against God.

John Paul II's indifferentism was perhaps the most common characteristic of his volumes of writings and speeches.   he constantly praised and esteemed non-Christian religions, thereby denying the Most Holy trinity and  the necessity of believing in the one true Catholic religion, while making a mockery of the deaths of the martyrs.

John Paul II, Address at Airport in Korea, May 3, 1984:  "Yours is a proud and sturdy people ... bearing splendid fruits in art, religion, and human living.   Your ancesters embraced  such overwhelming spiritual worlds as Confucianism and Buddhism, yet made them truly their own, enhanced them, lived them, and even transmitted them to others .  Wonhyo and Sosan ... eloquently express this feat."

The word 'feat' means an extraordinary act.  So John Paul II says that the false religions of Confucianism and Buddhism are splendid feats in religion, and that it was an extraordinary act and that the Koreans  transmitted these religions of Satan to others!

Antipope John Paul II - Public Idolater

The Bible says:

Exodus 20:3 ...'thou shalt not have strange gods before Me...'

1 Cor. 10:20...'the gods of the heathens are devils'...

VI.     A Defining Moment in Time - The Event That Fulfills What Scripture Warned Us About.

Is there one event that best describes and sums up the great apostasy in which religious indifferentism and worship of false gods is described in Sacred |Scripture?

Yes, there is.   St. Paul in 2 Thess. 2:3-4 says the following, which can only refer to one defining event in world history, and the "man of sin, the son of perdition":"Let no man deceive you by any means: for unless there come a revolt first , and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.     Who opposeth and is lifted up above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God."

St. Paul accurately describes The Assisi World Day of Prayer for Peace and Antipope John Paul II's Public Idolatry

The event that best describes what St.Paul in 2 Thess. 2:3-4, can only refer to The Assisi World Day of Prayer For Peace, in 1986.     Never before in the history from the time the followers of basically all major false gods under the sun been gathered in one place to worship their false gods.

The first Assisi World Day Of Prayer was organized by Antichrist John Paul II in 1986, and included heretics of various stripes, Jews and Muslims, who reject the Trinity and Deity of Christ, Buddhists and followers of Voodoo, Hindus, Zoroastrians, Janinists, American pagan Indians and members of the Bahai faith.  Prayers were said to the Great Thumb!

What John Paul II did in the area of mortal sins against the 1st Commandment and the acceptance of false religions and false gods is now repeated and commonly accepted all over the world by people who claim to be Catholic, only because John Paul II took the bold and revolutionary steps to commit public apostasy in an unprecedented way.

People in the counter church began to do the same kind of thing mutually following him into heresy, apostasy and idolatry.

[ Watch full video showing how Antipope John Paul II was a public idolater and led multitudes into heresy, apostasy and idolatry...The Antichrist Identified!  ]

VII.     Shocking Conclusion For All False Traditionalists And Members Of The Vatican II Sect!

Once John Paul II set the precedence for arranging and taking part in prayer meetings and gatherings with people of other non-Catholic and pagan religions, it was a 'no-brainer' that his successors would follow suit, and so they did.

On Nov. 30, 2006 antipope Benedict XVI prays with Muslims in the Blue Mosque in Turkey, crossing his arms in the Muslim prayer gesture called 'the gesture of tranquility.'

First it was antipope Benedict XVI, who arranged his own Assisi Prayer event in 2011, in which approximately 300 representatives of false religions, joined in false worship to their pagan gods.

Antipope Benedict XVI with his own Assisi Prayer meeting in 2011

Of course, we wouldn't expect antipope Francis to be left out of the picture, would we?

Antipope Francis is expected to visit Assisi on September 20, 2016 to mark the 30th Anniversary of Antipope John Paul II's convoking of the First Assisi World Day of Prayer in 1986.

Francis is an idolater and apostate just like his predecessors, as he invokes the 'spirit of Assisi' by his ongoing actions ... and takes 'selfie' with a member of a pagan religion just to back that up!

Antipope Francis plans to visit Assisi in September 2016 for World day of Prayer with non-Catholics

Antipope Francis best mates with the Jews who reject the Deity of Christ and the Blessed Trinity

Antipope Francis commits idolatry by participating in interreligious gatherings condemned by the Catholic Church

And to top that all off, antipope Francis "canonized" John Paul II, the Antichrist or head of the beast who was wounded and was healed, had his image honored in the false "canonization" ceremony by antipope Francis, exactly as described in the Apocalypse.

That ceremony became the instrument through which multitudes were implicated in idolatry by professing that a notorious idolater is a "saint!"

The Shocking and Final Conclusion:

All those who still follow the Vatican II antipopes and who adhere to this counterfeit church, which poses as the true Catholic Church, but is not, which includes all false traditionalists and the SSPX, as well as the Novus Ordo, also known as the Vatican II sect, after this presentation and having viewed the MHFM video: [The Antichrist Identified!

... have been implicated in the mortal sin of idolatry against the First Commandment and the infallible teachings of the Catholic Church, Outside of which There is No Salvation!

For another chance to enter the draw, use this guide to find out if you have seen a Māui’s dolphin that scientists have already identified. If your dolphin isn’t on the list, it’s all the more reason to send your photo in.
To enter the second chance competition, email your photo with your name, phone number and which Māui’s you think you saw to online@forestandbird.org.nz. The competition closes at 5pm on the 20th of March 2016. Photos may be shared on social media.

What do they look like?

Look for the "mickey mouse" round dorsal fin that identifies Māui's dolphin from the common dolphin. Their bodies have distinctive grey, white, and black markings and a short snout.
Use our guide to identify individual dolphins.

Where do they live?

Māui's prefer shallow waters, which means you may see them while you're out fishing, surfing or swimming this summer. They may be in river mouths, estuaries, harbours and shallow bays but are also known to be well off-shore. They're found off the west coast of the North Island - between the Whanganui River in the South and Dargaville in the North.

Why are sightings important?

DOC keeps a database of Māui dolphin sightings that goes back to the 1970s. Sightings help them understand the distribution of Māui's dolphins. In some cases, DNA can be collected and a method called DNA fingerprinting used to distinguish individuals. This
way, they may be able to tell if this dolphin has been sighted in the past, improving our knowledge of their movement patterns.

How do I record a sighting?

If you think you’ve seen a Māui’s dolphin phone 0800 DOC HOT. You can also download WWF's mobile app or submit your sighting on the Department of Conservation's website.

What should I record?

The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for DOC to confirm the sighting and use it for scientific research. Make sure to include the following information:
  • Location (a GPS coordinate if possible)
  • A photo or video Any landmarks (include them in photos if possible)
  • The number of dolpins
  • The date and time
Try to remain in the vicinity of the dolphins if you can - but don't chase or harass them. Keep speed to a minimum and avoid sudden changes in direction. DOC staff may attempt to make radio or phone contact with you and take a genetic sample on arrival.
