The Virgin Mary promised St. Mechtilde that whoever would pray three Hail Marys every day would receive her help during life and her special assistance at the moment of death; the Virgin Mary would appear to them with such brightness and beauty that the mere sight of her would bring consolation and the joys of heaven.

According to Saint Gertrude the Great (1256-1301), the Blessed Virgin Mary promised this: ”To every soul who faithfully prays the Three Hail Marys, I will present myself at the hour of death in splendor so extraordinarily beautiful that it will fill his soul with celestial consolation.”

St. Leonard of Port Maurice, the celebrated missionary, had the Three Hail Marys recited morning and evening in honor of Mary Immaculate, to obtain the grace of avoiding all mortal sins during the day or night; moreover he promised in a special manner eternal salvation to all those who proved constantly faithful to this practice.

He gave this devotion of Three Hail Marys as a penance in the confessional, especially for those who were struggling with sins of impurity.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

 St. Alphonsus Liguori added this:

By thy pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, make my body pure and my soul holy.

Hail Mary, etc…

By thy pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, make my body pure and my soul holy.

Hail Mary, etc…

By thy pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, make my body pure and my soul holy.

I personally have adopted the following method adapted from various sources:

Say after each Hail Mary, etc...

"O Mary by they holy and Immaculate Conception, make my body pure and my soul holy, preserve me from mortal sin all this day/night."

STORIES OF THE ANGELS

___________________

Matthew was a Galilean by birth, and a tax gatherer before his conversion, and was called Levi, but after his conversion changed his name to Matthew.

Together with Saint Mark, Saint Luke  and Saint John he is one of the four Evangelists.

In the Gospel he humbly relates the story of his conversion, and wrote his Gospel in Aramaic and it was afterwards translated into Greek, and the Aramaic text has since perished.

Zephyrinus: Saint Matthew. Apostle And Evangelist. Feast ...

He gives the line of ancestors from whom Jesus descended as a man, and on this account is represented by the animal with a human face in the symbolical vision of Ezekial; little is known of his life; the Fathers in general say he died in Persia.

St. Paulinus of Nola, asserts that he died among the Parthinians.  When his remains were discovered at Velia and brought to the Cathedral of Salerno, Pope Gregory VII began his journey there but died on the way, and was buried near the tomb of St. Matthew.

Seven Sorrows Of The Blessed Virgin Mary

Our Lady Isn't Emo! She's Sorrowful – EpicPew

Popular devotion to the Sorrows of Our Blessed Lady, whom Holy Church invokes as Queen of Martyrs, led in the Middle Ages, to the institution of several local festivals, such as that still kept in some places, of Our Lady's Compassion.  The devotion was fostered by the Holy Founders of the Servite Order who seem to have been the first to distinguish and enumerate the Seven Sorrows or Dolors.   It has been raised by Pius X to the rank of a double of the second class.

The Blessed Virgin Mary grants seven graces to the souls who honour her daily for saying seven Hail Mary's and meditating on her tears and sorrows.  The devotion was passed on by St. Bridget.

1.    I will grant peace to their families

2.    They will be enlightened about the divine mysteries

3.     I will console them in their pains and I will accompany them in their work

4.    I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my divine Son or the sanctification of their soul

5.    I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives

6.    I will visibly help them at the moment of their death, they will see the face of their Mother.

7.    I have obtained (This Grace) from my divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and sorrows, will be taken directly from this early life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgivehn and my Son and I will be their eternal consolation and joy.

Prayer to St. Benedict for a Happy Death

“O holy Father, St. Benedict, blessed by God both in grace and in name, who, while standing in prayer, with hands raised to heaven, didst most happily yield thy angelic spirit into the hands of thy Creator, and hast promised zealously to defend against all the snares of the enemy in the last struggle of death, those who shall daily remind thee of thy glorious departure and heavenly joys; protect me, I beseech thee, O glorious Father, this day and every day, by thy holy blessings, that I may never be separated from our dear Lord, from the society of thyself, and of all the blessed. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.”

St. Benedict himself revealed to St. Gertrude – also one of the greatest saints in the history of the Catholic Church, and herself a Benedictine nun – that “whoever reminds me of the extraordinary privilege with which God deigned to glorify my last moments, shall experience my particular assistance in his final combat. I will be a faithful protector against the assaults of the enemy. Fortified by my presence, he will escape the snares of the evil one and safely attain eternal happiness.”

The Last Times. Tuesday 8th September, Nativity of the BVM. St. Hadrian, M

The Last Times

__________________

Sister Lucy of Fatima told Fr. Fuentes in 1957 that we are in the last times.

"Father, the Most Holy Virgin did not tell me that we are the last times of the world but she made me understand this for three reasons.

The first reason is because she told me that the Devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive  battle against the Virgin.  And a decisive battle where one side will be victorious and the other side will suffer defeat.   Hence from now on we must choose sides.   Either we are for God or we are for the Devil.  Ther is no other possibility.

"The second reason is because she said to my cousins as well as myself that God is giving two last remedies to the world.   These are the Holy Rosary and Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.    These are the last two remedies which signify that there will be no others.

"The third reason is because in the plan of Divine Providence, God always before he is about to punish the world, exhausts all other remedies.   Now, when He sees that the world pays no attention whatsoever then, as we say, in our imperfect manner of speaking, He offers us with a certain trepidation the last means of salvation, His Most Holy Mother.    It is with a certain trepidation because if you despise and repulse this ultimate means, we will not have any more forgiveness from Heaven, because we will have committed a sin against the Holy Spirit.

This sin consists of openly rejecting with full knowledge and consent, the salvation which He offers.   Let us remember that Jesus Christ is a very good Son, and that he does not permit that we offend and despise His Most Holy Mother.

We have recorded through centuries of Church History the obvious testimony which demonstrates the terrible chastisements which have befallen  those who have attacked the honor of The Most Holy Mother, how Our Lord Jesus Christ has always defended  the honor of His Mother."
