A Lamp in the Dark Exposed - 27th March, 2010, St John Damascene

A Lamp in the Dark Exposed - by Chris Pinto

This is one of the most anti - Catholic films ever produced ...

This diabolical DVD is being promoted on Alex Jones' Infowar Store as "A bold expose' of Roman Catholicism as a bloodthirsty religious Harlot of Revelation 17 !!

A Lamp in the Dark DVD is an exciting documentary showing the intriguing history of the Bible, the most bloodstained book in history! You enter into a world of saints and martyrs battling against spies, assassins and wolves in sheeps' clothing.

This DVD unfolds the fascinating 'untold history' of the Bible. Reveals critical information often overlooked in modern histories.

During the Middle Ages, Catholic Popes and the Inquisition forbade Biblical translations threatening imprisonment and death to those who disobeyed this edict. Learn about the sacrifice of men like John Wycliffe, Martin Luther, William Tyndale, Myles Coverdale and others, who hazarded their lives to communicate the Bible in languages which the common people could understand.

Can this be the key to understanding? With the fate of Constantinople, ancient Greek manuscripts came into Europe, and with them the clear stream of understanding that produced the Protestant Reformation.

But what few people have ever heard is that Rome launched a Counter Reformation, fully intending that they destroy the work of the Reformers.

This is the key to the 'untold history of the Bible'. It is possible, even probable, that this ancient war on the word of God continues to this day! "

You can now see what the MHFM have to say about all this....my only comment is that I would be embarrassed to put my name to this distorted, twisted version of history, a compendium of lies completing lacking in any ounce of scholarly research...it is laughable, ridiculous, stupid, preposterous and all those other synonyms too many to list!!!!

I mean to say, I have just done a blog on the Inquisition, citing the Papal, and Spanish Inquisition, which pretty much occurred before the invention of the printing Press in the 1450's; the first English translation by Tyndale - the 1st ever Tyndale New Testament was around 1525, and so the banning of the Bible could not have been the reason for the Inquisition! Duh!

Because the Papal Inquisition occurred around 1239, and Queen Isabella instituted the Spanish Inquisition around 1492. Go figure!

The only "ancient war going on today" is the one based on Sola Scriptura - bible alone, the crutch upon which Protestants have relied upon, since their founding, 'wresting it to their destruction' !
