'A day of wrath, a day of tribulation and distress, a day of calamity and misery' - Soph. 1:15.
The Redeemer has appointed a day, which will be the day of the general judgment (the day of the Lord), in which Jesus Christ will make Himself known as the all-powerful Lord which He is.
On that day , the Lord will justly redeem the Honor which sinners have endeavored to rob Him of in this world.
How shall the judgment of that great day take place?
Before the coming of the Judge "fire shall go before Him"- Ps. 46:3
Fire will come down from heaven, which will burn the earth and all the things of this earth: "The earth and the works that are in it shall be burnt up." - 2 Peter 3:10.
So that churches, palaces, villages, cities, kingdoms, all will become a heap of ashes. This house corrupted by sin must be purged by fire, and behold the end to which to all the riches, pomps, and pleasures of this earth must come.
When all men are dead, the trumpet shall sound and all will rise." - 1 Cor. 15:52.
St. Jerome exclaimed: "I tremble when I consider the day of judgment: I seem always to hear that trumpet sounding in my ears - "Arise ye dead, and come to judgment."
At the sound of this trumpet, the beauteous souls of the just will descend to unite themselves to the bodies with which they have served God in this life; and the unhappy souls of the damned will come up from hell to unite themselves to those accursed bodies with which they have offended God.
Oh, what a difference will there then be between the bodies of the just and those of the damned! The just will appear beautiful, fair more resplendent then the sun: "Then shall the just shine as the sun." Matthew 13:43
Happy he who in this life knows how to mortify his flesh by refusing it forbidden pleasures; and who, to keep it more in chck, denies it even the lawful pleasures of the senses, and ill-treats it as the saints have done. O how wiil he then rejoice, like St. Peter of Alcantara, who after his death said to St. Teresa: 'O happy penances, which has merited for me so much glory!"
On the other hand, the bodies of the reprobate will appear deformed, black and stinking. Oh what torment will it then be to the damned to be united to their bodies!
Accused body, the soul will say, to gratify thee I am lost. And the body will say: Accursed soul; and thou, who hadst the use of reason, why didst thou allow me those pleasures which have damned both thyself and me for all eternity!

Ah! my Jesus and my Redeemer, who one day wilt be my Judge, pardon me before that day arrives "Turn not Thy face from me." ...
O Mary, my Queen and my Advocate, assist me now; for if I am lost, in that day thou wilt be able no longer to assist me ...

Reflections on the 23rd September, 2017 Apocalyptic Sign
It is interesting that so many were talking about the 23 September, 2017 relating it to the rapture and end of the World, and labeling it as another false doomsday alarm gone wrong, because seemingly nothing happened and they are all still alive days later!
They have entirely missed the mark on this one, and fail to grasp the fact that it is a sign given to us by God concerning the Second Coming of Christ and the General Judgement which immediately follows His arrival. ... a sign that we are close to His return and the events that will immediately precede His return to judge all mankind.
We have just had that warning sign, and we will get no other. People need to get their house in order, because 'He will return like a thief in the night' catching many off guard and unprepared!
We are told in the Bible that "fire shall go before Him.." Psalms 96,
and that "the earth and the works that are in it shall be burnt up..." 2 Peter 3:10
... so that all will become a heap of ashes ...
... when all men are dead ... then, "the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall rise...' 1 Cor 15: 52
According to St. Thomas Aquinas, those who are alive prior to the Second Coming of Christ will be burnt in the fire that precedes His coming, including both the good and the wicked.
However, according to St. Thomas, the good who haveno temporal punishmentdue to sins already forgiven, will suffer no pain, those who still have some temporal punishment owing will suffer their Purgatory during that time, more or less according to temporal punishment still remaining.
Now, what is so important about all this, is the importance of Indulgences should not be overlooked in these last days, for as the Church teaches an indulgence is a remission by the Church of the temporal punishment due to sin already forgiven, and that there are two kinds of Indulgences (1) a plenary indulgence which remits all temporal punishment due to our sins,and (2) a partial indulgence, which remits a portion of such punishment.
A Plenary Indulgencecan be gained by reciting certain prayers, for example Prayer Before A Crucifix; Salve Regina; The Memorare; An Act Of Contrition, Anima Christi, etc., under the usual conditions...
One would surely be foolish to reject this help offered by the Church, because she is able to apply to us the satisfaction of Christ and the saints in Heaven.
Then, or course, follows the General Judgment, following the return of Jesus Christ.

People in the United Kingdom could face up to fifteen years in prison
for repeatedly viewing “far-right propaganda” or “terrorist material”
online, according to a report.
According to the Guardian, “A new maximum penalty of 15 years’
imprisonment will also apply to terrorists who publish information about
members of the armed forces, police and intelligence services for the
purposes of preparing acts of terrorism,” while the “tightening of the
law around viewing terrorist material is part of a review of the
government’s counter-terrorism strategy
Some unusual solar activity has got social media spooked. The sun
over England appeared red and slightly menacing on Monday, triggering
fears of an imminent apocalypse. Many took to Twitter to share their
thoughts on the “eerie” spectacle.
The unusual occurrence was seen throughout the country and is thought
to have been caused by Storm Ophelia. The red sun was accompanied by
ominous-looking, yellow-grey clouds.
According to the Met Office, the red sun was caused by winds pulling
up Saharan dust. This dust is then reflected and refracted in longer
wavelengths, giving it a red appearance in the sky.
Some areas have been forced to turn on street lights in the middle of the day as the dust partially blocked out the sun.
Using the hashtags #redsun and #apocalyptic, unnerved Brits have shared their photos and videos on social media.
Twitter user Firetrapdiva wrote: “Today has a weird feel about it.
The air is strange, the sky is weird and the sun is red. Someone just
said it’s the sign of impending doom!”
Another user said: “Today is the day we die, the apocalypse is
coming. Lock your doors and remember to remove the head or destroy the
brain.”
User Louise Gray said: “Odd old sky out there today and eerily calm… It’s like something out of an apocalypse film.”
AJ Reid, a resident in the north of England, claimed: “Birds [are] flying into windows, ears ringing, no phone signal. Getting spooky around here.”
Peter Stoneman tweeted “I hope this isn’t the rapture,” while another
wrote “#RedSun over Oxford and Witney makes me feel like some prophecy
is starting that I haven’t heard of.”
Forecasters have issued a “danger to life” warning as Storm Ophelia,
one of the biggest storms in years, makes landfall in the UK and
Ireland.
