Did The Bible Predict 70 Years Without A Pope?

Commentary:

As MHFM point out in this very important, fascinating and revealing video, one of the most important video they have ever published, that while many people openly reject the sedevacantist position, that there has been no pope on the chair of St. Peter in Rome, since 1958, a period of just over 70 years, that surely God would not leave his Church for so long without a pope, and claim that the Church's dogmatic teachings, that the Church will have perpetual successors.

Brother Peter Dimond, of Most Holy Family Monastery proceeds to refute that argument, revealing some astonishing facts never before revealed, hidden as it were in plain sight, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, relating to God's promises to both King David and His Church.

Numerous passages in the Old Testament reveal God's promises to King David that he would have perpetual successors, and that David's throne would be perpetual.

After Jeremiah, 23:17, made the prophecy that the throne or chair of David would be perpetual and have perpetual successors, and would never lack a man from his family to sit on his throne, the Babylonian Empire sacked Jerusalem, and took King Zedekiah, a successor to David's throne into exile where he died. Following King Zedekiah's death around 586 BC, there was no successor to David's throne for over 500 years.

Some people thought that God's promise had failed, but the perpetual succession God promised was fulfilled by Jesus Christ Himself, in a manner many did not expect and He holds the throne forever, as Luke 1:30 says: "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His father David."

Just as there was a 500 year plus vacancy, in the office God promised to the throne of David, so to there can easily be a 70 year vacancy in the chair of St. Peter as part of biblical judgement. that fulfills prophecy about End Times, and that is what we have seen in the Vatican II apostasy.

Vatican I's statement about the perpetual successor of the papal office: "If anyone then says it is not from the institution of Christ the Lord Himself or by divine right that the blessed Peter has perpetual successors in the primacy over the Universal Church or that the Roman Pontiff is not the successor of St. Peter, in the same primacy, let him be anathema." Pope Pius IX, First Vatican Council, 1870

This doesn't mean that the chair of St. Peter cannot be vacant, and on the death of a pope the chair has been vacant numerous times and could last for years.

The institution remains perpetual even though the See is vacant.

The comparison between the vacancy of the throne of David and the current vacancy of the throne of St. Peter is that in both cases Babylon was involved.

It was Old Testament Babylon, the Babylonian Empire that sacked Jerusalem causing the 500 year vacancy of David's throne. God allowed this extended vacancy as a punishment for the sins of people, and it is New Testament Babylon, the Whore of Babylon, the prophesied End Times Counter Church, the Vatican II sect in Rome under apostate antipopes, which has unlawfully taken control of the Church's physical structures, resulting in a decades long vacancy in the chair of St. Peter.

Babylon's location is St. Peters in Rome where St. Peter is: "The Church that is in Babylon, elected to gather with you, salutes you." - Peter 5:13.

That's why the prophecy about the Whore of Babylon, has been fulfilled at that very spot.

Old Testament Babylon sacked Jerusalem in 586 BC under King Nebuchadnezzar II in the capital of his Babylonian Empire and is believed to have built the "Hanging Gardens" of Babylon, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.

Notice vines and hanging plants over the pillars, perhaps the most prominent feature of the capital of the Babylonian Empire, which took God's people into captivity and caused a vacancy of the throne of David.

Compare this to the "Fiat Lux" Light Show at St Peter's Basilica, 8 December, 2015, in addition to unclean birds and beasts which match the description of the Whore of Babylon in Revelations 18:12.

You can see a replication of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon with vines hanging over the pillars, just like in the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. It confirms the link between Old Testament Babylon and New Testament Babylon, the apostate Vatican II sect.

Old Testament Babylon took God's people into captivity as part of a biblical judgement and New Testament Babylon, the apostate Vatican II sect which rises near the end of the world and is part of a biblical judgement during the great apostasy.

New Testament Babylon has led multitudes of former members of the true Church ( the Catholic Church) into apostasy and away from the true Catholic faith and into spiritual captivity, so those who think they are supporting the Catholic Church, by defending the Vatican II antipopes are totally deceived . They are not defending the Catholic Church, they are aligning themselves with apostate antipopes and prophesied End Times Babylon....

The Vatican II sect is the End Times Babylonian captivity, and since this is a biblical judgement on the New Testament people of God, it occurs in New Testament Babylon, the place where St. Peter is located, the Vatican, not in Old Testament Babylon, and occurs in connection to a spiritual deception.

The Vatican captivity has caused an extended vacancy of the Chair of St. Peter, just like the Old Testament Babylonian captivity was connected to a vacancy of the throne of David.

There is also an undeniable link between the Office of David in the Old Testament and the Office of St. Peter in the New Testament.

Jesus' Kingdom, His Church is patterned after David's Kingdom and Old Testament Israel.

The royal ministers who formed the royal cabinet in the Davidic monarchy as well as the 12 tribes of Israel, prefigured the 12 Apostles of Jesus. David's Prime Minister received a key and Jesus gave the Keys of the Kingdom to St. Peter

At the council of Jerusalem Peter said what David said that God chose him (David) to be king over Israel forever....and Peter said God chose him (St. Peter) because he had supreme authority over the New Covenant Church, just as King David had supreme authority over Israel.

The Church is the Israel of God (Gal 6:15-16). As the Babylonian captivity in the Old Testament was connected to a long vacancy of the throne of David, the Babylonian captivity in the End Times is connected to a long vacancy of the throne or chair of St. Peter.

The extended vacancy of David's throne caused by the Babylonian Empire preceded Christ's first coming, therefore it makes sense that an extended vacancy of the throne of St. Peter would precede Christ's Second Coming.

The perpetual succession in St. Peter's chair will continue and considering we are in the End Times and witnessing the prophesies about the End Times Whore of Babylon, the Beast and the Antichrist, it is not plausible that a pope could be elected by other available means as has been the case in the past,.

The most likely scenario is that just as Jesus Christ Himself came the first time, and ended the vacancy of David's throne, by sitting on the throne and holding it forever, Jesus will return and assume the throne of St. Peter, and hold it

forever, perpetually.

Jesus is the invisible head of the Church, while a valid pope is merely His representative, His vicar, and said to be the visible head of the Church.

When Jesus comes back in Glory He will assume visible primacy and headship over His flock. Thus the succession of the chair of St. Peter can continue forever in exactly the same way that the perpetual succession to the throne of David continued forever after the long vacancy, by Jesus Himself.

Papacy - the office of a pope, the successor of St. Peter, which was founded by Jesus Christ on St. Peter as head of the Christian Church. the Bishops of Rome are the successors of St. Peter. they hold the same primacy in the Christian Church that St. Peter held in the apostolic Church.

Apostate and Apostasy- a baptized person who doesn't merely deny one or more truths of the Christian faith but gives up the Christian faith . Apostates also incur automatic excommunication. Apostasy refers to a general denial of the Christian Faith by multitudes of baptized persons.

Antipope- a false claimant to be the pope ( ie a false claimant to the Bishop of Rome). There have been over 40 antipopes in Church history, including some who reigned in Rome.

Vatican II - a council which took place from 1962-1965. Vatican II purported to be a general council of the Church, but actually was a revolutionary "robber council," which taught doctrines condemned by the Catholic Church. Vatican II brought in a new religion, and was responsible for the incredibly rotten fruits and revolutionary changes that ensued in its aftermath.

Sedevacanist; sedevacantist position - sede is Latin for "chair" and Vacante is Latin for "empty." A sedevacante period is a period when there is no pope: the chair of St. Peter is empty. This usually occurs on the death of a pope or after a pope's resignation. This has occurred over 200 times in Church history, and has lasted for years at times. Doctors of the Church also teach that the chair of St. Peter would become vacant if a pope were to become a manifest heretic.

The sedevacantist position describes the position of traditional Catholics who hold that the chair of St. Peter is presently vacant because the man in Rome can be proven to be a public heretic and therefore not a true pope.

Heretic - a baptized person who rejects a dogma of the catholic Church. heretics are automatically excommunicated from the Church without any declaration for rejecting an authoritative teaching of the faith.
