St. Benedict, Abbot

Saint Benedict

The son of a Roman nobility, he was born at Nursia, near Spoleto, about the year 480.

While still quite young he left Rome, giving up his studies and career in the world and etired to a place called Subiaco, where he lived as a hermit, receiving the monastic habit from Romanus, monk of a neighboring monastery. After three years he was made abbot of Vicovaro, but the monks finding his way of life too strict tried to poison him.

He left them and founded first twelve monasteries at Subiaco, and later the great monastery of Monte Cassino where he wrote the Holy Rule.

After his death in 547, St. Gregory the Great was the first to encourage universal devotion, when less than fifty years after the death of the saint he wrote his life and made known his rule.

Promises made to St. Benedict regarding the destiny of his order and that of his friends and enemies:

   1.  His order will continue to exist to the End of the world.

   2.  It will, at the End of the World, in the final battle, render great services to the holy Church and confirm many in the Faith.

   3.   No one shall die in the Order whose salvation would not be assured.  And if a monk begins to lead a bad life and does not amend, he will fall into disgrace, or be expelled from the Order, or will leave it of his own accord.

   4.   Everyone who persecutes his order and does not repent will see his days shortened or meet with an unfortunate end.

   5.   All, however, who love his order will obtain a happy death.

After St. Benedict's death in 547, he appeared to St. Gertrude, saying,

"Whosoever reminds me of the extraordinary prerogatives with which the Lord deigned to glorify my death shall be assisted by me at his death, and I will be his faithful protector against the assaults of the wicked enemy.  Fortified by my presence, he will escape the snares of the evil one and safely attain to eternal glory."

A Prayer in Honor of St. Benedict For a Happy Hour of Death.

O holy Father blessed by God both in grace and in name, who while standing in prayer with thy hands raised to Heaven didst most happily yield thy angelic spirit into the hands of thy Creator, and who has promised zealously to defend against all the snares of the enemy, in the last struggle of death, those who should daily remind thee of thy glorious departure and thy heavenly joys, protect me, I beseech thee, O glorious Father, this day and every  day, by thy holy blessing, that I may never be separated from our Blessed Lord, from thy company, and from that of all the blessed through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Long-term Mask Use May Contribute To Advanced Stage Lung Cancer, Study Finds

Recent studies show (a) the inhalation of harmful microbes can contribute to advanced lung cancer in adults, (b) and the onset of pimples near the mouth, and (c) the patients arriving back at their dental office with an increase of gingivitis (inflammation of the gums, an early form of gum disease) and tooth decay.

"Coronavirus masks are killing people, dentists warn"

There is a new pandemic sweeping the country and its cause is persistent mask wearing.

‘Mask mouth,’ a play on meth mouth, is spreading like wildfire and dentists are warning that it could have serious consequences, including death.

‘Gum disease, or periodontal disease, will eventually lead to strokes and an increased risk of heart attacks,’ warns Marc Sclafani, a dentist and co-founder of One Manhattan Dental.

Wearing a mask on a regular basis is causing many to experience severe mouth inflammation, the complications of which can be extremely severe.

‘We’re seeing inflammation in people’s gums that have been healthy forever, and cavities in people who have never had them before,’ adds Rob Ramondi, another dentist and One Manhattan Dental co-founder.

According to Ramondi, roughly half of his patients are suffering from health problems due to wearing a mask.

‘About 50 percent of our patients are being impacted by this, [so] we decided to name it ‘mask mouth’ – after ‘meth mouth.”

Wearing a face covering breeds bacteria in front of the mouth and nose, where pathogens flourish in a warm, moist environment. These pathogens then enter the mouth and body, creating disease.

Another problem is mouth dryness, as people who wear a mask tend to breathe through the mouth while it is on rather than through the nose.

‘People tend to breathe through their mouth instead of through their nose while wearing a mask,’ Sclafani says.

‘The mouth breathing is causing the dry mouth, which leads to a decrease in saliva – and saliva is what fights the bacteria and cleanses your teeth.’

It is almost as if the human body was not designed to wear a mask. When someone does is when the problems begin.

It is simply not healthy, no matter what the government or large corporations say, to block one’s breathing passages with fabric or plastic, especially the kind that is made in China.

There is no scientific evidence to show that wearing a mask does anything beneficial. In fact, the latest research shows that wearing a mask does pretty much nothing.

Why, then, are many politicians, big corporations, and media talking-heads still pushing them? The answer is anyone’s guess.

Those who are forced to wear a mask at work can try to drink more water and cut down on caffeine to help protect themselves against mask mouth. Sclafani also recommends that mask wearers use a humidifier, refrain from smoking, use an alcohol-free mouthwash, and scrape their tongue to further decrease their risk of complications.

Until a critical mass of Americans says enough is enough and take off the mask, the problem will only continue. In the coming months and years, expect to see a pandemic of oral health problems, heart problems, and early death caused by mask mouth…

‘Patients are coming into us like, ‘Wow, my breath smells, I need a cleaning.’ [But] when you smell the bad breath, you either already have periodontal disease or you have a lot of bacteria that’s sitting on your tongue because of dry mouth,’ Sclafani further explains.

Sclafani encourages his patients to breathe through the nose whenever possible, but this is difficult for many mask wearers due to lack of oxygen and excess recycled carbon dioxide waste inside the mask.

‘Masks are unhealthy,’ one Fox News commenter wrote. ‘It increases the amount of carbon dioxide you breathe in. It is also a germ catcher that absorbs all the germs your hands touch.'”
